“The LORD replied, ‘Look around at the nations; look and be amazed!
For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.’”- Habakkuk 1:5 NLT
Swiss comedian and artist Ursus Wehrli once said, “I like to turn things upside down, to watch pictures and situations from another perspective.”
As children of God who are in the world, but not of the world, it can become exceedingly discouraging to witness the gradual turning away of society from the Lord and His desires for all of humanity.
It is a meal that is served daily and is readily available for all to consume.
Even the most “righteous and holy” of Christians can get discouraged by what is being served to the masses.
But like Ursus Wehrli implies, your perspective on any given situation should always bring you back to your reality. Not the world’s reality—but your reality.
God is sovereign over all. That means in both the good and the bad, all things are subject to Him.
Even in the places where they don’t believe in Him, don’t love Him, and don’t even know Him, God is there.
And as a Christian, you are to take a step back and try to look at things from God’s perspective.
When the world may seem like it’s upside down, realize that the world is God’s canvas, and His epic masterpiece entitled, “My Redemptive Plan” still has some touching up to do. He still has some colors to gather and some previous brushstrokes to erase.
Your perspective and view of the world as a Christian is threefold:
- Biblical
- Spiritual
- Heavenly
You are to ask yourself-
- What does the Bible say about this type of situation?
- How is the Holy Spirit within me leading me to respond to this situation?
- Based on what I understand of how God operates, how do I think He views this situation from Heaven?
God is doing something amazing in this world. Shift your vantage point and watch how He who is in control is working all things ultimately for good.
God Bless,
